Tree roots are one of the most damaging and least visible threats to a home's drainage system. Roots naturally seek out water sources, and the tiny cracks or joints in underground pipes are exactly what they find. Once inside, they grow rapidly, filling the pipe, trapping debris and eventually causing complete blockages, structural damage or even pipe collapse.
By the time you notice the symptoms, such as slow drainage, gurgling sounds or recurring blockages, the root intrusion is often already well established.
Our engineers use CCTV drain inspection cameras to locate the root intrusion and assess the condition of the pipe before any work begins. This allows us to choose the most effective solution while avoiding unnecessary disruption to your property.
For active root blockages, we use specialist root-cutting equipment to break up and remove the intrusion from inside the pipe. This is followed by high-pressure water jetting to flush away any remaining debris and leave the pipe walls completely clear.
Where the pipe has been damaged by root growth, we can assess whether drain relining or other protective measures are required to help prevent future problems.
Removing the roots is only part of the solution. If the entry point is left untreated, the roots are likely to return. Once the blockage has been cleared, our engineers will assess the condition of the pipe and recommend the most appropriate long-term solution.
This may include drain relining, root-resistant protective coatings or scheduled CCTV inspections to monitor the condition of the drainage system and identify any issues before they become serious.
